Sero 7 General Discussions / Tapatalk Trouble
« on: November 28, 2013, 08:42:43 AM »
I've been using Tapatalk for a few weeks now and absolutely love it.  But I'm having some issues with it and wonder if this is affecting anyone else.
1. "Amp;" being inserted into subject lines.  Example: "Best tablet amp; ever made!"
2. Post edits don't work in pro version. I can edit a post in Tapatalk, tapatalk says "edit successful". But the changes are not actually made.
3. In the pro version all replies seem to insert a quote from the previous post.

I'm rooted with stock ROM and recovery.  Any ideas?

Sero 7 Apps / Volume in Notification
« on: November 16, 2013, 10:06:33 AM »

This is a great little app that puts a - mute, up, down- button in your notification shade.  No need to fumble for or wear out your physical buttons.  Mute and unmute at the touch of a button!  Super handy!

Sero 7 Pro Accessories / Other compatible cases.
« on: November 09, 2013, 02:55:21 PM »

I'd like a case like the one at the link below.  I have one for my Touchpad and I love it.

I can't seem to find this exact style for the Hisense.  I found one designed for a Kindle fire at big lots that was a near perfect fit on my Samsung Galaxy tab 2 7"  It is too small for the Hisense though.

based on the size and port locations what other model tablet cases would work on the Pro 7?

I know any generic elastic corner case would work but the case I am referring to in the link above is a very specific fit.

Speaker and camera cut outs can be done with a grommet kit found at any hardware store.  Just use the punch to cut a nice neat hole and trim it with a grommet ring if you want to.

So my question is:
The Hisense Sero 7 Pro is 7.87" 4.95" 0.43"
What other major brand tablet has these same dimensions?

Woke up this morning and my Chromecast was dead.  The indicator light was red but on.  The TV was getting a signal but it was just a black screen.  Did a little research.  Google recommends resetting it and I guess there is a known issue with the reset button sticking.  Well, that didn't help.  Then someone at android central recommended replacing the USB cable.  I tried that and it fired right up.

It is amazing how many issues I've seen solved by swapping out the cable.  Charging, syncing, flashing Roms.  It is an easy first step in resolving many issues.

You might think your usb cable is fine.  It seems to work.  Problems with a usb cable can be intermittent.    You could be in the middle of flashing a rom and it fails every time.  You know you've done everything right.  The connection might just be failing for a brief second.  Long enough interrupt communication.   Charging can become spotty or slow as well.

If you do replace the micro usb cable be sure to get one that says "Charge/Sync"  a charge only cable wont work.

Sero 7 User Tips / Text scaling in Chrome

Being used to 9.7" tablets I find the font too small to comfortably read for my old eyes.

Go to:
Three dot menu top right of Chrome Browser screen.

Use the slider to set a comfortable font size.  Then just double tap on anything that is too small to read.

Sorry if I'm over posting.  I'm a newbie here and just trying to catch up.

Sero 7 User Tips / Increase maximum volume on Sero 7 LT
« on: November 02, 2013, 08:53:57 AM »
I was disappoint by the low maximum volume on my Sero 7 LT.  Here's an old trick I've used on many devices.  Install "EQualizer" from the Play store.  Use the heavy metal setting or slide all the toggles to the top.  It will double the maximum volume.

Hi my names John.  I've had at least a dozen Android tablets.  They have become a part of my daily life.  I have one on my headboard , one on my desk, one in my shop and a smart phone in my pocket.   "What!" You say.  "You don't have one in your car?  How do you survive?!!!".

All my other tablets are 9.7".  I've been looking for a smaller 7 or 8 inch high quality low priced tablet.  I found a sero 7 LT on Craigslist for 40 bucks with a poetic custom fit case.  I checked the specs and it seemed like a good deal.  For 40 bucks I figured I couldn't lose.

Well it didn't take long to figure out the one to get was the pro 7.  Picked one up this morning at Walmart and so far I love it.  The LT is going to my wife if she wants it or back on Craigslist.

I've been an avid android fan for 3 or 4 years now.  I'm pretty well versed in most functions.  Hopefully I can learn about this great little device and help out where I can.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all.
