Sero 7 Help / Re: Refurb Sero 7 pro does not show as a drive.

Settings>About>Build tap 8times.
Return to settings, select developer mode, uncheck USB debugging.

I did not know this changed the USB mode.

Your choice of tablet REALLY depends on how she'll be using it. My wife loves her Sero 8 but she is by NO means a power user. She plays simple Android games and watches movie from our media server or her SD card. She likes the 8 inch screen vs. the 7 inch. If your girlfriend wants more power AND the 8 inch screen go with the Dell Venue 8. The Walmart extended warranty has gone up to $39 which I believe is the same as Dell's.  Currently the Dell Venue 8 is only $20 more than the Sero 8. It might pretty hard to find a new 7 pro.

Your sero 7 pro will not show up as a drive, it shows as a media device. This is normal ( I would rather it show up as a USB drive also). You can still transfer data to it no problem.

I don't use calibre I use Aldiko and Kindle app with no problems so I can't help you with that. Sorry.

My wife Sero 8 seems to charge normally.

The Sero 8 may use tbe battery faster since it has a larger screen. Typically newer OS use more battery since there are more features but I believe I read somewhere Kitkat was supposed to be more streamlined.

There are quite a few made specifically for the 7 pro and many are very reasonably priced. Not sure why you would want to modify anything.

No the Rockchip RK3168 A9.  As was stated above the 7+ is more of a replacement for the 7LT.  I would expect a Tegra 4 based machine to be the 7 Pro II or the 8 Pro.

There are quite a few kids cases available but none that I can find for the Hisense. If you use the link above you can find a tablet with similar dimensions and hopefully use one of them.

There are some really good ones available for the more common tablets.

If the strange behavior occurs while on the charger or plugged into your PC it may be a problem with the tablets USB port or the USB cable itself. Are you using the same cable for charging and data transfer?

On your note Samsung has enabled the ability to move apps to the external SD card. Android natively does not support this feature. It has to be provided by the device manufacturer or by a third party.

The 7 pro does not support sdxc (exfat) you would have to reformat and/or partition it to multiple fat32 sections. I haven't done any speed tests but I doubt you would benefit from anything as expensive as the extreme SanDisk pro.

Thanks for the heads up.  I'll skip this one since YouTube is broken. Do you have a version number?

It does not have GPS, it supposedly uses some other method for location data needed by apps. Definitely not the deal the Sero 7 pro ws initially. Do others for this price point?
For me this isn't much of a loss. My vehicles have navigation, I cn use Maps on my cell phone and if I'm outdoors hiking I have a Garmin etrex.
