John,I unplugged the mouse from my pc and plugged it into the tablet.  The tablet instantly recognized it and the cursor does appear.  It's exactly the same as a desktop.

I must be lucky.  I've never experienced a site that needed a mouse. In all honesty, it seems silly to me to have a 7 inch tablet and use all these devices - a mouse and full size keyboard.

When the tablet sees a mouse, it automatically shows you the cursor.  It then works exactly the same way you are accustomed to.  Nothing to install, it just works. 8)

Perhaps I ought to clarify - I only use the Bluetooth mouse and keyboard when I am using the HDMI out to my HDTV.  I keep the tablet at the entertainment center next to the TV and have the mouse and keyboard on my coffee table.  I use this as a replacement for my netbook.  I too agree that I haven't much need for them when using the tablet by itself.

Now this interests me. Only I am intrigued with mini things,  so I might try this with a mini Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.  Thanks for the idea.

Hey All!  Wow!  I never knew the tablet would recognize a mouse and then automatically pop-up a cursor.  This is very cool.

I get it now Justin.  When showing content on the screen, you can select input by being away from the tablet.

Dang...  I learn something new every day!   ;D

I made it to big lots. Apparently the sale hasn't started yet but I only found one thing so it didn't matter. Check your zip code on their site for sale dates.

They had 3 different brands of Bluetooth key boards. One came with a mouse.  I think theywere all $20.

They had 4 different Bluetooth mouse s. A few different colors. $10. $13. $15.

I bought the iHome mini for $10.and it works great.

I will attempt a photo withthe tablet.

lol.  you're right.  It's not.  It's a wireless mouse.  I spaced on that one.  Helping with homework at the same time.

Thanks Laura!

Hey... I'm going to check it out tomorrow.  The picture shows a USB dongle.  I'm assuming with a Bluetooth device, there isn't one needed.

Thanks for the heads-up on those!  I'll let you know if I find one.   ;D

Yeah, the market is flooded with inexpensive wireless mice and even the cheap ones seem to work really well. Bluetooth has always been more expensive and less reliable than wireless. Not sure why that is since they are both RF just different frequencies.

A Bluetooth mouse should not have dongle. There are Bluetooth dongles but that's for adding Bluetooth to devices that don't already have it built in.
If someone's post helps you out make sure to press thumbs up :)

I chose wireless because it will work with my other tablet as well. That one would need a Bluetooth dongle.

Just happened across this a few minutes ago - an OK deal on an HP Bluetooth laser mouse: http://www.spoofee.com/hp-x4000b-wireless-bluetooth-laser-mouse/deals/811618#.Uh4s4EopA-U
