camera non functional
« on: September 12, 2014, 05:54:47 PM »
Hello sero 7 users, I hope one of you may have encountered this problem.  I am the owner of a now twice replaced or refurbished sero 7 pro.  Faulty USB port as has been well documented, customer service informed me 99% of their calls are related to this.  Curiously, the most recent replacement they sent me was devoid of everything except stock apps... And superuser (rooted) permissions already.  Hmm.  Also, the USB port issue may have finally been addressed as I notice the fit is much tighter.  Today I go to use the camera for the first time to discover it will only display a black screen, when accessed through camera or gallery.  It sometimes gives the message unfortunately cannot connect to camera and always force stops after about a minute.  I spent a few hours on Google researching, troubleshooting, clearing caches, uninstalling or reinstalling apps.  Downloaded the extracted official jellybean app, it will not installlike a normal apk u will just get an error msg if u try, you have to use a root browser and place it in system/apps.  I have tried everything short of a factory reset as I am loathe to spend another 8 he's reinstalling apps and configuring it the way I like it since I just did that 4 days ago!  BTW its rooted but not using a custom ROM.  If anyone else has encountered a similar problem please let me know, I found stuff about other android devices having the same problem but nothing specific to the sero 7.  Thanks7

Bah it has to be a software conflict or OS fail but what it is is beyond me... Popped the bezel off its easy to do you can dot it with your fingernail and both cameras appeared securely attached and seated.  Guess I'll do the factory wipe once I'm ready for those good times :-(

I find this a long time ago, so I know it's discouraging to me.
