Hello I have a stock Hisense Sero 7 Pro that belongs to my mom. The rom or has never been altered. She told me just one day she powered it off and after that everytime she tried to turn it on it wouldn't get passed the Hisense Logo. I was able to get it to load up the OS one time after powering it off and on multiple times but it got stuck soon after and the only thing I could do was power it down. I am able to get into recovery mode and was able to do a factory reset and wipe the cache partition but after rebooting it still gets stuck at the logo. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Charlie.

The good news... You can get to recovery....the bad news...that's probably all you can do.

When you say untouched that says to me she didnt turn developer options on and usb debugging is off. So there isn't anything beyond what you're already doing that can be done.  If it was me, I would do a bunch more resets. Keep trying, hoping it would just come up. IF it does, turn on developer options and root it, asap!  Then flash either the stock rom back on or one of the custom roms available.

If you think usb debugging is on or don't know if it is, try rooting and putting a custom recovery on it.

If usb debugging is off, after following instructions to get the device hooked up and starting the root package, the screen ( in the black command window) on your PC will say "waiting for device"....at that point you're done. Nothing you can do..  Unhook from the pc..

I have a tutorial, if you don't know how, and want to try.

Thanks for the response LuckyMe. Yes i'm positive that the developer settings were never turned on, she was only using it for casual things like facebook and going on the internet. I guess i'll just continue trying to recover it and maybe i'll get lucky.

good luck.

I had the same problem and just fixed it.

My system -- Windows 7

Programs and files needed:
adbGUI -- which can be downloaded from here http://d-h.st/users/labo/?fld_id=44865
stock-v60220-full-update.zip -- which can be downloaded from here (link in second post) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297246&page=200

My Sero 7 Pro tablet - Refurbished unit from Newegg
- stuck at HiSense boot screen
- stock rom
- developer options not turn on
- I was able to hold down the down volume button and the power button at boot at get to the "Recovery" screen.
- From there I was able to navigate to the "apply update from ADB"
- Once the "apply update from ADB" option was selected the tablet showed "Now send the package you want to apply to the device with "adb sideload <filename>"
- Plug the tablet into your computer
- Open adbGUI -- when you click the "show device" button your tablet should appear in the CMD window
- Click the "Files" tab
- Under the sideload section click "open file" and then select the "stock-v60220-full-update.zip" file you downloaded
- Click the "Sideload" button
- Wait...
-  After 2 or so minutes the table should show that it is verifying the file and installing it
- When it is complete reboot the tablet.
- The turn on "debugging"

Good luck -- Steve

Hi everyone.  I have altered the title to reflect there are instructions enclosed in this thread, and sticky'd it to the top, so it won't get buried and lost.

Hopefully some people can restore their tablets without having USb debugging on, as long as they can access recovery .

Please give Steve a thumbs up!

Thanks Steve and Laura, I tried to download the adbGUI but Norton inspected the link and stopped the download because of malware detected.  Did some digging around the net and found an alternative procedure:
Downloaded Android Studio for its SDK tools, never needed to open the software...
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

Prerequisite JDK but if not installed, you'll be prompt to install it when installing Android Studio (it also provides a safe link)
Java Development Kit (JDK) 7
jdk-7u80-windows-x64 also x86 based processor, verify which one you have by opening System Information, from there System Summary... System Type

Once installed place stock-v60220-full-update.zip in the SDK/platform-tools folder on your computer, but do not unzip it.
Path example (replace with your <userid>): C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools but if system files|directories are hidden such as AppData, go to My Computer or This PC... View... Option... select radio button "Show hidden Files, folders, or drives" and untick "Hide protected operating system files"

Open a CMD (command window)
From there, enter this command (replace with your <userid>): C:\cd\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools

Once inside that path, enter this command:
C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools>adb sideload stock-v60220-full-update.zip
loading: 'stock-v60220-full-update.zip'
sending: 'stock-v60220-full-update.zip'  100%

If you got the above results THEN YOU'RE GOOD TO GO AND REBOOT your tablet, but I had a little snag... error: more than one device/emulator
C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools>adb sideload stock-v60220-full-update.zip
loading: 'stock-v60220-full-update.zip'
error: more than one device/emulator

I needed to verify what multiple devices were attached... by entering command: adb devices
C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
1234567890123456        sideload
543210987654321 device

If you're not sure which device is your Sero 7 Pro... safely disconnect the usb and repeat the command, the missing qualifier will be your Sero 7 Pro.
Reconnect your usb and enter the command again with -s option followed by the Sero 7 Pro qualifier:

C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools>adb -s 1234567890123456 sideload stock-v60220-full-update.zip
loading: 'stock-v60220-full-update.zip'
sending: 'stock-v60220-full-update.zip'  100%

I'd like to thank you guys. Last week, my Sero 7 Pro (rooted, original OS) suddenly started showing lots of error messages (couldn't copy files, lots of gapps were not responding). After booting, got stuck on hisense logo. Nothing made it come back. Despair arose.
After installing original version, boot it (not responding again), cleaned data, it got back.
I took the opportunity and updated it to DOPA kitkat 4.4.4. Worked like a charm, and used another link from XDA for gapps (the one in the tutorial is no longer valid), but worked ok also.
Lost my backup (I did one after the crash, but couldn't make it come back), but not losing the tablet was most important. And now I can install apps that I couldn't before, due to original Android version wouldn't allow it to install.
